Manchester City agree Mahrez deal

Leicester City have accepted a bid from Manchester City believed to be in the region of £60million, according to Sky Sports.

The Mahrez transfer has been one of the longer sagas in the last year with the midfielder continuously linked with a move to the Etihad since last summer. The deal came close to materializing in January but it eventually fell through as the valuations of the player by the two clubs stood too far apart. Mahrez then went missing for over a week, before he coming back and patching things up with the Foxes.

However, plenty of reports claimed City wouldn’t give up and would try to reignite the deal in the summer, and the matter went back and forth for a while as City even contemplated alternatives at one point. But with Guardiola adamant that Mahrez is the right man to add further depth to his title-winning team and Leicester possibly unwilling to hold the player against his will any longer, it seems the clubs have finally reached an agreement.

Sky Sports claim the Algerian is set to undergo the medical ahead of the switch this week.
