Manchester City have confirmed they have signed Spain international striker Alvaro Negredo from Sevilla.
The 27-year-old scored 25 goals in La Liga last season and becomes City’s third new recruit of the summer under new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Negredo’s departure was announced by the Spanish club on Wednesday and the Premier League runners-up confirmed on Friday that he will follow compatriot – and former Sevilla team-mate – Jesus Navas to the Etihad Stadium for the new season.
The forward will battle with Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero for a starting place in attack for the club.
