Manchester City are showing interest in Barcelona defender Gerard Pique, reports Radio Monte Carlo.
The Citizens are not exactly spoilt for options at the back despite signing Martin Demichelis from Malaga, and chances are boss Manuel Pellegrini will attempt to sign a high-profile centre-back in January.
And according to Radio Monte Carlo, the Chilean has made Barcelona stopper Gerard Pique one of his primary targets.
With Pique’s current contract due to expire in June 2015, Manchester City could decide to test Barcelona’s resolve with a January bid for his services.
Even if the Catalans will not be keen to cash in on their prized asset, the mere fact the defender is no closer to signing a new deal at Camp Nou is enough to suggest he is considering his options.
Manchester City produced quite a coup by defeating reigning champions Bayern Munich at Alianz Arena yesterday evening, and they are 3/4 to win the all-important clash against Arsenal as well.
