Manchester City have made another attempt to sign midfielder Daniele De Rossi from Roma, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
Roberto Mancini has long ago expressed his interest in signing the Italy international, but the club officials were unable to persuade the player that his future lies at Etihad Stadium.
Il Corriere dello Sport claims that the Citizens are making a final assault on the highly rated midfielder, despite signing Jack Rodwell from Everton just few days ago.
The same source claims that agent Sergio Berti visited Manchester yesterday, and not to discuss the future of his client Aleksandar Kolarov, but to talk about his other protégé Daniele De Rossi.
Manchester City have reportedly prepared a four-year deal for the midfielder, worth €8 million per campaign, which is €2 million more than what he is earning at Olimpico.
It remains to be seen whether the player will be interested in joining the Citizens, while the transfer fee is another matter than needs to be resolved.

With Citizens, i think money is not an issue. I’d rather say Mancini can seal those big pores in his midfield area where the opposition usually break inn. 12-13 season of EPL is surely gonna be scintillating and with such a competitive run i’d say De Rossi is ‘The Player’ as CDM and essential for City’s strategies. I think it will be top deal of this transfer window or at least for citizens, i think they must surely go for this to keep hold of title.
