Today’s newspapers unsurprisingly include a transfer rumour about Manchester City. The big surprise today however is that this time the rumour is about someone leaving the club!
According to the Daily Mail, Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has identified Manchester City’s Brazilian midfielder Elano as his number one target for the January transfer window.
Of course, Mourinho identified Frank Lampard as his number one target in the Summer and failed to get him, so there are no guarantees that he would be any more successful in tempting Elano to the San Siro.
The twenty-seven year old midfielder who has thirty-two caps for Brazil can be absolutely brilliant but on occasions can also be somewhat anonymous. Whether he is part of Mark Hughes’ plans at the City of Manchester stadium or not could well be put to the test in the transfer window.
