Of all the Manchester City rumours so far I have been amazed that this one hadn’t really surfaced before now. According to the Sun newspaper this morning the club may be looking for a new manager in January.
It says that Mark Hughes could be forced out by his Brazilian players, who are said to be unhappy with the Welshman’s management style. A new replacement could be found in the January transfer window.
Following City’s 2-1 defeat at home to Tottenham yesterday, City sit just one point above the drop zone and that is not what the new owners expected. Since their fabulous 6-0 win over Portsmouth, City have won just one of their subsequent eight league games.
It is certainly not unimaginable that the owners may be getting a little restless about the progress of the team, or the lack of it.
