Manchester City set for Gimenez transfer tussle

Manchester City are set to face competition from Inter Milan and Juventus in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez, according to the Mirror.

The twenty-two year old has started just for games in La Liga so far this season and is set to be the subject of a transfer tussle, with his contract set to expire at the end of the campaign.

Manchester United and Arsenal had been linked with a move for the Uruguay international last summer with Atleti reportedly ready to consider bids under his £56m release clause though deals were never agreed.

The Gunners had been interested as early as August 2016, though they instead opted to sign Shkodran Mustafi.

Giminez recently notched up his one hundredth appearance for Diego Simeone’s side, and has scored five times in that time while internationally he has won thirty-seven caps for his country and played at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
