Manchester City to rekindle Mahrez interest

Talksport understand that Manchester City will reignite their interest in signing Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez this summer.

The Citizens have been linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Isco though they are set to instead go back in for the Algeria international who saw a move to the Premier League leaders fall through in January.

After going AWOL following the collapse of the proposed switch, Mahrez has returned to Foxes first team and has impressed taking his season’s tally to ten goals in twenty-nine league appearances while he has also chalked up eight assists.

In total, the twenty-seven year old has played one hundred and seventy-two times for the East Midlands outfit in all competitions, scoring forty-six goals while his form in the 2015/16 title winning campaign saw him named the PFA Player of the Season.

Internationally, he has been capped thirty-four times by his country, scoring eight goals.
