Competition: Premier League

Market: Manchester United to beat Everton

Odds: 3/4 @ Bet365

The new year has begun and every football fan is immediately treated to a glut of exciting action. Following December’s hectic schedule, the players will be relieved to restore some sort of order to the footballing calendar, although they will have to navigate midweek fixtures this week as the league continues to heat up. With all of this in mind, Manchester United travel to face Everton on Monday.

Everton have been in good form recently as Sam Allardyce has helped the side to arrest a slump that saw them flirting with danger earlier in the season. After 21 games they have collected 27 points, winning seven, drawing six and losing eight times, while they have scored 25 goals and conceded 32 times. While their revival has been impressive, they have stuttered in recent weeks, drawing twice and losing once in their last three games, which has seen them lose more ground on the European places. Despite the revival Everton have embarked upon, the fans will want to see them get back to winning ways on Monday.

Manchester United have been struggling recently as they continue to lose more ground on Manchester City at the top. After 21 games, United have won 13, drawn five and lost three, scoring 43 goals and conceding 16 times. With City dropping points in their last game, United had the chance to close the gap, but they too were held to a draw, with Jose Mourinho’s men left frustrated by their own profligacy. With all of this in mind, we are backing Manchester United with odds of 3/4 from Bet365.
