Manchester United front-runners in race for Austin

Manchester United have emerged as the favourites to sign Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin, according to the Metro.

Bookmakers have slashed the odds on the twenty-six year old securing a move to Old Trafford before Tuesday’s transfer deadline while Bournemouth are also in the running.

Austin has been strongly linked with a move away from Lofus Road ever since Chris Ramsey’s side were relegated back to the Championship back in May.

However, he has featured in all five of the Hoops league games so far this season and is currently the division’s top scorer with four goals.

In total the former Burnley man has scored forty-two goals in seventy-eight games for QPR while he received his first England call-up back in May though is yet to make his debut.

Manchester United lost at Swansea City on Sunday afternoon, and they are now priced at 1/3 to finish the season in the top four.
