Manchester United join race for Schneiderlin

Manchester United have joined the race to sign Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to the Mirror.

The France international has long been linked with a move away from St Mary’s, with North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also keeping a close eye on his situation.

The South Coast club managed to retain his services last summer while a number of first teamers were allowed to leave, though with the big guns once again circling, manager Ronald Koeman will face an even tougher task in trying keep hold of him this time around.

In seven seasons in England, Schneiderlin has racked up two hundred and sixty appearances in all competitions for the Saints, scoring fifteen goals while he was part of the squads that won promotion from both League One in 2011 and the Championship a year later.

Arsenal’s win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday afternoon ensured that Southampton will play in the Europa League next season.
