Manchester United keen on French International

ESPN are reporting that Manchester United are once again in the market for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

The Red Devils have been long time admirers of the Frenchman and according to the player himself, they are likely to try and sign him again.

The 24-year-old said: “The rumours about my future are common, every summer it’s the same that I will be going to this club.”

“I know Manchester United have tried to sign me for the past three or four seasons.”

Despite this speculation, Benzema went on to say that he is ‘very happy’ at Real Madrid and intends to stay for a while yet.

He didn’t rule out moving to England at some stage in his career, but for now, after winning the Spanish title last season, he is more than content in Madrid.

Whether this stops a Manchester United bid remains to be seen, but they would certainly have to put in a substantial offer for one of the hottest players in Europe.

Benzema not only had his best season yet for Madrid most recently, but he has also been in fine form for France in the build up to Euro 2012.

He will also be part of the French team to take on England on Monday evening, so will have the chance to show English fans what he is all about.

It seems likely that the Manchester United link will continue to be mentioned though, perhaps all the way through the tournament in Poland and Ukraine.
