Manchester United keeping tabs on Ajax hotshot

Manchester United are closely monitoring Ajax forward Viktor Fischer, according to Metro.

The same source claims the Red Devils are willing to bid up to £5 million for the highly rated striker.

The Danish forward impressed the scouts by scoring seven goals for Ajax youth team in the opening NextGen Series tournament.

He has since been promoted to the first team, but has yet to be handed a competitive debut by coach Frank de Boer.

However, the former Barcelona defender spoke highly of the player after he had starred in the pre-season friendly against Celtic.

Fischer has yet to make an impact at the senior level, but has shown enough promise to attract attention of Europe’s top clubs.

The player has two years left on his contract at Amsterdam Arena, and has already hinted he could leave the club in the near future.
