Manchester United lead Lewandowski chase

ESPN understands that Manchester United are favourites to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich this summer.

The Poland international has been strongly linked with a move away from the Bundesliga leaders in recent months with Chelsea and Real Madrid also monitoring the situation.

However, sources in Germany state that it is only the Red Devils who have yet made a move for the twenty-nine year old and they may have to bid big, with his current contract set to run until the summer of 2021.

Since moving to Bayern from Borussia Dortmund he has racked up one hundred and eighty-two appearances in all competitions with an impressive goals return of one hundred and forty-two.

He has won three consecutive league titles at the club to add to the two he won at Dortmund while he has also won the German Cup with both sides and was last year named the best player in the division.
