Manchester United readying bid for Otamendi

Spanish radio Deportes COPE is reporting that Manchester United are set to make an official proposal for Valencia stopper Nicolas Otamendi.

Signing a high-profile centre back is a priority for Louis van Gaal in the summer transfer window and it would appear as though the Argentine has become his primary target.

Manchester United have been following Otamendi ever since he was at FC Porto and they are convinced the 27-year-old would be a great addition to the squad at Old Trafford.

Valencia officials are well aware of the heavy interest in the defender’s services and they are set to offer the footballer a new and improved deal even if he has another four years left on the current contract.

Manchester United sit two points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool with nine games to go and the Red Devils are available at 4/5 to achieve a top 4 finish and secure Champions League qualification.
