Manchester United rekindle interest in Borussia Dortmund defender

Premier League giants Manchester United have reignited their interest in Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, according to The Mirror.

The Red Devils have experienced all sorts of problems at the back over the last couple of years and Jose Mourinho is keen to further improve his back line.

According to reports, Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti is Man Utd’s primary target, but with the Frenchman unlikely to leave Camp Nou in the summer, the Portuguese manager will probably have to tun his attention to Sokratis.

The 29-year-old has performed admirably for Borussia Dortmund five years, making a total of 123 Bundesliga appearances.

Sokratis has just over a year left on his deal at Signal-Iduna Park, meaning that he should be available for a reasonable price.
