Manchester United set for Alderweireld move

Manchester United are ready to make a move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld, according to the Mirror.

The Belgium international featured in less than half of Spurs’ league games last season though he did struggle with injury at the turn of the year.

He has been continuously linked with a move to Old Trafford over recent months and could now be targeted as Jose Mourinho looks to bring in as many as five new faces after a campaign that saw them finish nineteen points behind champions Manchester City and lose the FA Cup final to Chelsea.

The twenty-nine-year-old has played one hundred and fifteen times in all competitions since signing from Atletico Madrid, scoring six goals.

He has been capped sixty-eight times for his country, scoring three goals and has been named in Roberto Martinez’s provisional squad of twenty-eight for this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia.
