Sport Bild has learned that Manchester United have submitted an official proposal for Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels.
It is no secret that the Germany international is club’s primary target in the summer transfer window and it appears the highly rated centre-back is finally ready to quit Signal-Iduna Park.
With Jurgen Klopp leaving and the Millionaires missing out on Champions League qualification, Hummels feels the time is right to leave BVB.
Everything suggests that Manchester United will be his next destination, with the Red Devils having now offered €30 million for his services.
And even though Borussia are holding out for €40 million, chances are the two sides will eventually find an agreement that will see Hummels move to Old Trafford.
Manchester United’s six-match winning run in the league came to an end as they were beaten at Stamford Bridge, but they are 23/20 to see off Everton on the road next weekend.
