Manchester United want Raphael Varane

Premier League giants Manchester United are weighing up summer move for Real Madrid hotshot Raphael Varane, according to Sunday Times.

The Red Devils have failed to properly reinforce the back line despite splashing the cash on a host of new players this summer and they plan to address the issue in a year’s time.

Namely, Manchester United aim to reignite their interest in Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, who could be interested in leaving Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite being widely regarded as one of world’s most talented centre-backs, the Frenchman has failed to secure regular playing time in La Liga, and he has been flirting with Madrid exit.

It is believed that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho would also make a move in case Varane becomes available for sale, meaning that English Premier League could easily be his next destination.

The 22-year-old is expected to start for France in tonight’s friendly match against Serbia, where Les Bleus are 4/9 favourites to emerge victorious.
