Goalkeeper Steve Mandanda has no intention of leaving Marseille in January, despite reports linking him with a move to Russia.

Mandanda has kept five clean sheets in the league this season as Marcelo Bielsa’s side have made the early running in the league, currently sitting four points clear of defending champions Paris Saint-Germain with a game in hand.

His form has caught the eye across Europe, prompting reports he could follow former team-mate Mathieu Valbuena to Dynamo Moscow.

However, the 29-year-old is adamant he will remain at the Stade Velodrome, ruling out any chance of him leaving during the current campaign.

“Honestly, I won’t leave in January,” he told the club’s official website. “I don’t want to leave, though it is true that anything can happen.

“You’re never sure you won’t be transferred or that I won’t be dropped or that I’ll get injured.

“In this line of work, you are never sure of anything.

“In my head, it’s clear that I don’t want to leave, and I certainly don’t want to leave in January.”

Marseille return to league action on Sunday when they look to extend their seven-game winning run against Toulouse.
