Mapp extends Montreal stay

Montreal Impact left winger Justin Mapp has re-signed with the MLS club.

In a club press release, sporting director Nick De Santis expressed his content in being able to bring back one of the Impact’s more technically adept players.

“We are very happy that we were able to come to a new agreement with Justin,” De Santis said.

“Last season, Justin showed some very good moments. He is one of the most technical and gifted players on our team. We look forward to our technical staff continuing to work with Justin to help him find more consistency in his game, while helping him reach his fullest potential.”

Mapp scored two goals and had five assists in 27 appearances with the Impact last season.

In 11 MLS seasons spread across D.C. United, Chicago Fire, Philadelphia Union and Montreal, Mapp has 20 goals and 49 assists. Per league and team policy, details of his new contract were not released.
