Sevilla coach Marcelino has guaranteed that he is not thinking about leaving the club.
The 46-year-old, who took over from Gregorio Manzano in the close-season, is under extreme pressure as Sevilla sit 11th in La Liga after Sunday’s 2-1 home defeat against Villarreal.
“I will not quit, although I am the most responsible (for the result),” Marcelino told reporters after the match.
“I will work until the people who make decisions know what to do about my future. I feel capable of turning this situation around.”
Marcelino also denied that his squad selections played a role in Sunday’s result.
“I do not believe that the substitutions were suicidal,” he said.
