Marchisio set for Monaco

According to Tuttosport, Claudio Marchisio is on the verge of completing his move to Monaco. The 32-year-old Italian spent 25 years on the books with Juventus before leaving a few weeks ago, in search of first team football. In the last 24 hours it was reported that several clubs were interested in signing Marchisio, given his quality and wealth of experience.

Alas, it seems as if the French club will be the ones who land his signature, as they attempt to push for the Ligue 1 title this season. Marchisio is known for his overwhelming versatility, and if it wasn’t for his knee injury, there’s a chance he would’ve been able to work his way back into the line-up with The Old Lady.

Monaco are currently 5th in Ligue 1 after registering a win and a draw, with a series of big games coming up over the next few weeks in the form of Bordeaux, Marseille and Toulouse.
