Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti dreams of playing for Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to Frederic Hermel.
The Italian midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu, but he has so far resisted temptation to leave Parc des Princes for greener pastures.
After the player’s agent Donato Di Campli revealed that his client was unlikely to remain with the Saints for the remainder of his career, football pundit Frederic Hermel has suggested that Verratti is keen on joining Real Madrid.
“His dream is to go to Real Madrid,” Hermel told Radio Monte Carlo.
“He has negotiated like crazy to come to Real Madrid for two years. I can tell you that this is not from an indirect source.
“And it was even after the departure of (Carlo) Ancelotti.”
Since arriving at the club from Pescara, Verratti has developed into a world-class playmaker and no wonder he is on the radar of Europe’s top clubs.
Paris Saint-Germain chiefs are well aware of his qualities and are determined to keep the Italy international at Parc des Princes for as long as possible, but a big money offer from Real Madrid could complicate things.
