Slovakia midfielder looks set to leave Napoli after 11 long years, the Italian media report.

The 31-year-old superstar who eclipsed Diego Maradona’s goalscoring record for Partenopei is ready to abandon the cult status he enjoys at the Serie A club.

Hamsik was already linked with Napoli departure during the summer transfer window but Carlo Ancelotti managed to convince him to stay. The Slovak midfielder was said to be disappointed to see Maurizio Sarri leave and wanted to do the same.

A couple of months fast forward and Napoli captain is no longer at the centre of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans and is believed to be looking towards the exit door. Hamsik completed full 90 minutes in just one Serie A match this season and was only given a 16-minute run during the Champions League stalemate in Belgrade against Crvena Zvezda.

Tuttosport is suggesting January will see Hamsik wave goodbye to his beloved club and head towards east where an unnamed Chinese club is already waiting for him.
