A report carried on Sky Sports News suggests that new Manchester City manager Mark Hughes, has agreed to what is a club-record fee of £19 million with CKSA Moscow for 21 year old Brazilian starlet, Jô.
The negotiation of personal terms and a medical are now reportedly all that is left to sort out and is being touted as a mere formality.
The only potential problem for the talented striker is expected to come in City’s pursuit of a work permit. Due to Jô’s lack of international appearances, there being a strong chance that City’s initial bid will be rejected.
However, the club will be extremely hopeful of winning on what will be a personal hearing appeal, and if the deal does indeed go through Jô will become Hughes’ first major signing at Eastlands since joining from Blackburn Rovers.
