Marseille join chase for Jack Wilshere

ESPN is reporting that Marseille are weighing up January bid for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The 25-year-old is nearing the end of his contract at the Emirates and his long-term future at the club is clearly in doubt.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger made it clear that he would open talks over a new deal for Wilshere at the end of December as he first wanted to see how much the midfielder could contribute to the team.

Meanwhile, top European clubs are casting admiring glances Wilshere’s way, with Marseille the latest side to join the race.

According to reports, the England international is also a target for Napoli and several La Liga sides.
