Marseille not giving up on Mitroglou

Ligue 1 giants Marseille hope to complete a deadline day transfer for Benfica striker Kostas Mitroglou, according to L’Equipe.

L’OM have so far failed to recruit another proven goalscorer and they have now turned their attention towards the Greece international.

Marseille sent a new bid after their initial €14 million proposal was rejected by the Eagles, but they are not prepared to match a €20 million asking price.

It is important to note that l’OM have agreed personal terms with Mitroglou and have a private plane ready to take him to Provence in case they reach an agreement with Benfica.

The 29-year-old spent last two years at Benfica, bagging 35 goals in 60 Primeira Liga appearances.
