Marseille are yet to register a point in the UEFA Champions League but head coach Elie Baup still believes they can qualify for the last 16.

Defeats to Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund in Group F have seen the French outfit score just once and concede five times as they prepare to face Napoli on Tuesday.

Baup praised their upcoming opponent for their recent form and backed his players to get a result if their attitude and work rate were right.

“The most important thing is to continue to believe and to expect to qualify,” Baup said.

“We will play this game like any other game and we still keep hoping to get a good result in order to qualify.

“The last game that Napoli played (against AS Roma) there was a free kick and a penalty and for me, Napoli played very well and had a lot of opportunities.

“The score could have been different but Roma are playing at a very high level at the moment and deserved the result.”

Speaking at Marseille’s pre-match press conference on Monday, goalkeeper Steve Mandanda was wary of the threat stemming from Napoli’s impressing attacking arsenal.

“Napoli is a good collective, a strong team in all areas and offensively, they have a quartet of quality,” Mandanda said.

“I have seen many of Napoli’s games this season and there is not one good player in particular but offensively they are very strong.”
