Marseille rekindle interest in Abdennour

French giants Marseille have reignited their interest in Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour, according to France Football.

With their back line having been torn apart by Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco this season, l’OM are in the market for high-profile centre-backs and they are set to make a fresh assault on their long-term target.

Head coach Rudi Garcia believes that Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour would be a very good option for a number of reasons.

The Tunisian was widely regarded as one of the best stoppers in France during his time with Toulouse and Monaco, and he should be available for a reasonable price due to his struggles at Mestalla.

France Football claims that Abdennour is currently valued at €15 million, although Valencia are likely to demand more having splashed out €25 million on his services two years back.

The 27-year-old has since made 35 La Liga appearances for los Che.
