Chelsea are weighing up a January bid for Marseille midfielder Gianelli Imbula, reports the Daily Express.
It is no secret Jose Mourinho is looking to reinforce his midfield department at the earliest opportunity and he appears ready to take a gamble on the Ligue 1 hotshot.
The Blues have already watched the player on several occasions this season and they are thought to be readying a £25 million bid.
Imbula only arrived at Marseille this summer from Guingamp, but he has done brilliantly to immediately command a starting berth.
The 21-year-old has already started 9 Ligue 1 matches this season, scoring one goal in the process, although he was left on the bench in last two league fixtures.
The midfielder’s suitors Chelsea are in all sorts of problems after a poor run of results, and they are 4/7 to defeat West Ham away and return to the right track.
