Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested that Marseille have emerged as one of the main candidates for the signature of Fiorentina midfielder Mario Suarez.
The former Atletico Madrid stalwart has found it hard to adapt to Italian Serie A and he is now heavily linked with a January exit.
It is believed that Viola would be prepared to consider offers in the region of €5 million, but they have so far only received several loan proposals.
Nevertheless, it is believed that Marseille could come forward with an official bid in the coming weeks as they plan to reinforce the midfield department in January.
Mario Suarez, 28, has made a total of eight Serie A appearances this term, scoring one goal in the process, but he has only spent ten minutes on the pitch in last four league fixtures, although he did feature in four Europa League games this season.
