In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Aston Villas manager Martin ONeill said that his Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wengers comment about Gareth Barry was strange, to say the least.
Earlier this week the Arsenal manager had said that Gareth Barry was one of his prime targets.
ONeill in the interview said that it was very unlike Wenger to have made comments such as that and that he (Wenger) had never contacted him in that regard and that it must have been a slip by the shrewd Arsenal manager.
Gareth Barry had been targeted by Liverpool but that is all but over.
