Martinez happy to keep faith in young defenders

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has said that he does not expect to make any new additions in January, according to the Mail Online.

Despite bringing in Aaron Lennon on loan in the 2015 winter transfer window, the former Wigan Athletic boss tends to not do his business halfway through the campaign and that is set to be the way once again.

The Toffees have had to rely on a number of younger players in defence this season after injuries to first team regulars such as Leighton Baines, and Martinez is keen to continue utilising his youth squad.

Brendon Galloway and Tyias Browning, who have a combined age of just forty, have racked up fifteen league appearances between them so far this season while star defender John Stones is still only twenty-one himself.

Everton travel to West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, and the away win can be backed at 9/5.
