Martinez has no regrets over Cleverley

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has insisted that he has no regrets about not signing Tom Cleverley on transfer deadline day, according to the Mail Online.

The Merseyside club made a late move to sign the midfielder from Manchester United, though a deal could not be agreed and the 25 year old subsequently joined Aston Villa on loan.

Martinez managed to bring in five new players in the summer, securing permanent deals for Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry after they both had successful spells on loan at the club last season while they also added forwards David Henen and Samuel Eto’o and midfielder Muhamed Besic.

Everton are yet to win this season, having taken just two points from nine available so far.

They will be hoping to kick start their campaign when they take on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon, with the away win priced at 23/20.
