Mateo Kovacic to be rewarded with new Inter deal

Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that Inter Milan are readying a new and improved contract for midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

The 20-year-old still has another four years left on his current deal, but the Nerazzurri plan to extend his contract for another season and increase his wage to €2 million per campaign.

And while there will be no release clause included, interested sides have been informed the Croatian would not be available for less than €40 million.

Mateo Kovacic joined Inter Milan from Dinamo Zagreb in January 2013, but he needed quite a while to start proving his worth at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The Croatia international has, however, been in scintillating form this season, scoring 5 goals in as many competitive appearances.

Inter are still unbeaten in Italian Serie A and they are available at 4/9 to defeat Atalanta next weekend and ensure they stay close to their top 3 rivals.
