Mathieu Debuchy linked with Ligue 1 return

French media outlet Le Parisien has learned that Marseille are readying January bid for Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy.

OM boss Rudi Garcia hopes to get reunited with the player he coached at Lille and he is expected to make his move in the coming weeks.

Debuchy is no longer in the first team plans of manager Arsene Wenger and he will probably be allowed to leave in January.

Seeing that Hiroki Sakai has failed to impress since joining the club from Hannover, Garcia is keen to add the Gunners full-back to his ranks.

The 31-year-old has only made one Premier League appearance this season, but he lasted just 15 minutes on the pitch before suffering a hamstring injury.

His suitors Marseille have finally managed to show some improvement, winning four straight league games and they are 2/1 to see off Monaco when the Ligue 1 campaign resumes.
