Juventus striker Alessandro Matri is confident Nicolas Anelka will prove to be a valuable signing for the Italian champions.
The 33-year-old joined Juve in the January transfer window, and the 28-year-old has nothing but praise for his new team-mate.
“There’s no doubting his quality: he has always shown his value, he is used to winning and has a great international pedigree,” Matri told Sky Sport Italia.
“The last aspect will be very useful to us, because there aren’t many in our team who can count on such experience on the European stage.
“The initial impressions are very good.”
The attacker also discussed his side’s chances to retain the Serie A title, and singled out Napoli as their biggest rivals.
“Lazio are also doing well, but Napoli have been playing together for a longer period of time and they are currently our main rivals,” Matri said.
“They have great strikers, but our team play enables many different players to score and it is no coincidence that we possess the most prolific attack.”
Juve currently hold a three-point advantage over Napoli at the top of Serie A.
