New York City FC are set to announce the capture of Argentine playmaker Maxi Moralez, according to Marca.

The 29-year-old has landed in New York, where he will undergo medical tests before he signs a contract with the MLS side.

Moralez will join New York City FC on a season-long loan with an option to buy, and there are no doubts he will be an excellent signing for the side coached by Patrick Vieira.

The Argentine will find World Cup winners Andrea Pirlo and David Villa as his new teammates, and he will further improve the team’s creative department.

Maxi Moralez enjoyed several successful years in Italian Serie A, where he managed 18 goals and 26 assists in 142 appearances for Atalanta after arriving from Velez Sarsfield.

The highly rated footballer left Orobici to join Club Leon in January 2016, going on to score 6 goals in 34 league fixtures.
