M’Bia talks up return to Europe

Hebei Fortune midfielder Stephane M’Bia has moved to suggest that he is ready to return to European football.

The 30-year-old left Trabzonspor in January 2016 to move to China, but it appears he has missed playing at a high level.

M’Bia has suggested that he is ready to consider a return to Europe, with Marseille and AS Roma potential destinations.

“Would I go back to Marseille?” M’Bia confessed to La Provence. “Of course! I have a year and a half left on my contract, the clubs have to see between them.

“I also won’t hide from you that I have a very good relationship with my ex-sporting director from Sevilla, Monchi, who has signed for Roma.

“We talk from time to time… The Italian League isn’t bad either, but Marseille is home.”

M’Bia represented Rennes, Marseille, Queens Park Rangers, Sevilla and Trabzonspor in Europe, but he has somewhat failed to realise his full potential.

The two years at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan were a resounding success, as the midfielder played a key role in helping los Rojiblancos win back to back Europa League trophies.
