McClaren keen on Ibe

Derby County manager Steve McClaren is keen on taking Liverpool’s Jordan Ibe on loan, according to the Mirror.

The 17 year old has made just one appearance for the Reds this season, playing all 120 minutes of the Capital One Cup third round victory over Notts County in August, having made his first team debut in the final Premier League game of last season.

He is set to put pen to paper on a new long-term contract at Anfield when he turns 18 next month, but could well be allowed to gain further first team experience elsewhere after falling down the pecking order in Brendan Rodgers’ squad.

Former England boss McClaren is intent on strengthening the Rams’ squad as he looks to maintain their promotion push.

Victory against Bournemouth tomorrow could see the East Midlands club climb in to the play-off positions, and they can be backed at 7/5 to take all three points.
