Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports on Thursday that English manager Steve McClaren and Eredivisie side FC Twente have come to an agreement.
Rumours began some days ago when McClaren visited the team to be shown around. He also attended Twente’s last play-off match with Ajax.
Twente, who will be playing in the third preliminary round of the Champions League next season, needed to find a replacement for coach Fred Rutten who is moving to Schalke 04.
Several names had been linked to Twente in recent days. Morten Olson was an option but preferred to focus on the Danish national team instead.
McClaren has been without a job since failing to make it to the upcoming European Championships with the English national team.
