Ireland winger Aiden McGeady will most likely be fit for his country’s crucial World Cup qualifier with Italy next Wednesday.
McGeady injured his knee in Saturday’s game with Bulgaria and was initially ruled out to face the world champions.
“He is a slight doubt, but I think he will be okay to play on Wednesday,” assistant manager Liam Brady explained, adding that a final decision will be made the day ahead of the match.
The top two teams in Group 8 are scheduled to meet in Bari at 20:50 local time.
