Recently promoted Hull City have attracted Frenchman Bernard Mendy, who will be making the move from Paris Saint-Germain in his home country.
The player will join the English club as free agent, as his contract at PSG had come to an end.
“It is strange to leave Paris Saint-Germain. One of the reasons for my departure is Phil Brown, a coach that I still know from my time at Bolton Wanderers. He wants me to guide the young players a little,” Mendy told l’Equipe.
Mendy, who turns 27 in August and is of Senegalese origin, began his career at SM Caen in 1998 and joined PSG two years later. In 2002-2003, he spent a season on loan at Bolton, in the Premiership.
