Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker admitted that they have it all still to do after they had to settle for a draw in the first leg of their UEFA Cup tie against Milan.
“We set out to play a high-tempo game and unfortunately we only really were able to make that happen in the final 15 minutes and were unable to capitalise,” Mertesacker said on Werder’s official website.
“Obviously it impossible to maintain that kind of tempo over 90 minutes but in that crucial phase it is crucial to score. But we were missing that extra bit of bite in the box.”
