Lionel Messi has hinted that he is ready to return for Barcelona following injury.
The Argentina international was unavailable for the UEFA Champions League victory over Celtic and the league win against Real Valladolid because of a thigh strain sustained in the game at Almeria last month.
Messi was also absent for his country’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers with Peru and Uruguay as a result of the injury.
However, the 26-year-old returned to training on Monday and now appears set to make his comeback.
“Ready to come back,” Messi posted next to a picture of him training on his Instagram account.
Messi’s recovery will come as a boost to Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino, but it remains to be seen whether he will feature against Osasuna on Saturday ahead of a Champions League clash at Milan and the first ‘Clasico’ of the season against rivals Real Madrid.
Messi has made nine appearances in all competitions this term, scoring 11 goals.
