Michu wants to see new arrivals at Swansea in time for next season as they look to move forward under Michael Laudrup.

The Spaniard had an impressive debut season at the Liberty Stadium, scoring 22 goals to help them finish ninth in the Premier League, and he hopes to see new arrivals at the club to they can push on next season.

After his arrival for two million pounds from Rayo Vallecano, Michu made an immediate impact playing as a lone striker in Laudrup’s side, and he was influential as they recorded the first trophy in their history by beating Bradford in the League Cup final.

The 27-year-old wants to continue to improve next season and hopes to see a new striker join the club so he can play in his preferred position in midfield.
“I hope I will be a better player next season,” he said. “It will be difficult to score that many goals again but I hope to do that.

“The club will sign new strikers in the summer. I prefer to play behind the striker but, if the gaffer asks me to play anywhere, I’ll play there.

“My team-mates next year will score as well so there won’t be too much pressure on me.”
