Michu lauds Swansea mettle

Swansea midfielder Michu has praised his team-mates’ never-say-die attitude after his side overcame a two-goal deficit to draw with Reading.

Michael Laudrup’s side trailed 2-0 at the break on Saturday but avoided a fourth-consecutive Premier League defeat thanks to second-half goals from the Spaniard and Wayne Routledge.

And Michu, who bagged his fifth goal in seven Premier League appearances, says Laudrup’s men always believed they could get something from the game.

“It was very strange because we were 2-0 down at half-time but we had all the possession, the territory and the chances,” Michu told the club’s official website.

“We spoke at half-time and we had the belief we could win the game. What we needed was an early goal, and we got that, and then we just kept putting them under more and more pressure.

“Wayne took his goal very well and we thought we could go on and win the game.

“It is frustrating to only come away with a point because we created so many chances, but we fought back very well and it stopped the run of defeats.”
