Espanyol have confirmed that Championship side Middlesbrough are interested in signing Japanese ace Shunsuke Nakamura.
Nakamura and Boro boss Gordon Strachan knows each other well from their days together at Scottish giants Celtic.
“It is true that Middlesbrough have asked about him, but nothing more,” Espanyol’s sporting director Ramon Planes told La Vanguardia.
“We listen to offers for all players, but I doubt that Nakamura wants to leave.”
Nakamura have failed to become a hit at Espanyol sincejoining the club from Celtic and could be interested in a move to England.
