Middlesbrough seal Fletcher deal

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Ashley Fletcher from West Ham United, according to the Mail Online.

The Championship club haven’t wasted any efforts in strengthening their front line ahead of next season after signing Britt Assombalonga for a club record fee earlier this month.

Now they have added former Manchester United youth product Fletcher, who made twenty appearances in all competitions for the Hammers last season with his one and only goal for the club coming in a 4-1 EFL Cup defeat to the Red Devils back in November.

Prior to his move to the Olympic Stadium, he had a season-long loan spell with Barnsley, where he scored nine goals in twenty-seven appearances in all competitions.

He becomes new ‘Boro boss Garry Monk’s sixth new signing of the close season following the arrivals of Assombalonga, winger Marcus Braithwaite, defender Cyrus Christie, midfielder Jonny Howson and goalkeeper Darren Randolph.
